Entire Congregation Excommunicated After Applauding During Worship

Saginaw, MI – Synod officials confirmed today that that every communicant member of Calvary Lutheran Church has been excommunicated.

“The severity of the charges and the proof present through the church videorecording made this an open and shut case,” said Pastor Daniel Banner, District President. “We need to send a clear and unmistakable message to all congregations regarding proper decorum and behavior during worship.”

Shocking online video confirmed the allegations. Following an anthem by the 3rd and 4th grade classes, a majority of the congregation were seen clapping their hands in a frightening display of the glorification of sinful man and complete disregard for the sanctity of the Lutheran liturgical tradition. Most disturbing of all, church leadership did not actively intervene to stop the applause, and in many cases joined in with the blatant heresy.

“The actions of the congregation represent a shocking disregard for the basic tenets of the Christian faith,” added Pastor Banner. “Scripture exhorts us to turn fellow believers from the errors of their ways, but quite frankly, in a case this serious, there is no evidence of faith and all these so-called believers are most assuredly lost and condemned souls. May this serve as a warning for all of us. Be sober and vigilant, lest you fall into the same trap.”
