Beulah, ND – Disaster struck the annual St. Luke’s Lutheran Church Christmas Concert when the entire choir except the altos called in sick.
“It was the most boring concert I’ve ever directed,” lamented disgraced choir director Walter Murphy. “I think we sang a total of four notes. ‘Joy to the World’ was an utter catastrophe!”
Concertgoers, while sympathetic to the prevailing circumstances, confirmed that the Christmas Concert was ‘an absolute snooze-fest’ and ‘a complete waste of time.’”
“I was so excited to hear ‘Angels We Have Heard on High,’” bemoaned Josephine Coleman, who travelled from Milwaukee to hear the choir in concert. “Instead, I had to suffer through what sounded like an hour of moaning! It would have been better to just cancel the whole thing.”
The concert has been rescheduled for December 30th, prompting fresh cries of outrage from Lutherans offended at the blatant sacrilege of performing a Christmas concert almost a week after Christmas.Want the latest news? Follow us on Facebook or Twitter!
